Ian is now 22 months and has developed an obsession with Cinderella’s Castle at Disney World. I’m not sure why, how it started or what it means (perhaps he’ll be an architect?). He loves looking at pictures of it and watches the fireworks display above the castle that we recorded from our first Disney World visit over and over. He loves the fireworks too, and on July 4, he cheered and clapped every time one exploded.

For a kid so attached to his pacifier, and after much discussion on how we could break the “paci” habit, surprisingly he ended up doing so cold turkey. Eric forgot to take it to school one day, and he was fine without it, so we put them all away to see what would happen. He’s only requested it once since. We told him they were all gone, so he picked up his Mickey, grinned his goofy grin and ran away. So we are officially done with pacifiers.

His allergies are still awful, so I’m taking him to an allergist this Friday. I’m not sure what to expect, I’m just hoping they can determine what is making his eczema so awful. His little legs have been so raw that they bleed at times.

Ian loves Mickey Mouse and carries one with him everywhere. He and Ally watched Lilo and Stitch for the first time (thanks, Matt and Beth!), which he has fallen in love with as well. I’ve only seen bits and pieces, but from what I’ve watched, I’ve got a soft spot for Stitch myself, probably because he reminds me so much of my boy – sweet and cuddly, but unintentionally destructive and rambunctious at the same time.

Ian and Ally have also taken to watching Scooby Doo in the evenings and Ian likes to impersonate the monsters from the show. He approaches me, smacks my leg, yells “monsta” and then growls, which cracks me up and makes him giggle like crazy. The boy loves to growl, and is getting quite good at it – he truly is an animal at heart.

Speaking of which, I hear my wild thing(s!) calling…
