Oh! I just saw the pictures of Ally's head. Poor little thing. She is a tough cookie, huh?

Happy Anniversary, you two. You are not only spectacular parents, but also, a dynamic and admirable couple. I wish you many more years of marital bliss.

You are not a bad parent. it seems harsh but if she gets her own way by having tantrums, it will get worse.

Let her scream and go to her only when she starts to calm down. She may vomit but she will learn that it only makes her feel ill if she keeps it up, no amount of tantrums are going to work. Eventually, she'll calm down. It may take time and how long may depend on how long she has managed to manipulate you with her tantrums.

Reward good behaviour and reprimand the bad. My own child used to throw a real tantrum when told no. I even had to threaten to give him something to scream about. Eventually, he started to realise that his behavious was unacceptable and only got him punished.

This may be very hard for any parent, it was for me since I loved my little bundle of energy. However, I had to show him that directing his excess energy into throwing tantrums was not going to work. If left unchecked, it can escalate into extreme violence, especially as a young adult, sometimes resulting in prison sentences because they have lost it with another person and the violence has escalated into using weapons.

My son is now 35 and has a family of his own, his temper is extremely calm and it takes a lot for him to lose it now. I like to think that I taught him to remain calm even when things are not going right for him. I would hate to think what may have happened if I had not done this.
